Refugee Students: Call for Applications

2024-25 Cohort

Recruitment for the first cohort of refugee students is open. Please read the Frequently Asked Questions for refugee students and the Call for Applications for program eligibility and instructions on how to apply. This call is open to refugees who reside in Kenya who have already been referred for resettlement to the United States Refugee Admission Program (USRAP).

Note: You will be required to enter your USRAP case file number in the application form.

The first cohort of refugee students are expected to arrive in the United States in time to begin academic studies in September 2024.

2025-26 Cohort

Recruitment for the second cohort of refugee students is open. The Call for Applications for refugee students residing in Kenya and refugee students residing in Jordan outline program eligibility and instructions on how to apply.

It will not be a requirement that applicants have already been referred to the United States Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP), but applicants must meet the eligibility and admissibility criteria for the USRAP.

  • Applicants residing in Kenya must have have confirmed Refugee Status Determination (RSD) in Kenya, GOK/UNHCR proof of registration and Republic of Kenya refugee ID card or waiting slip.
  • Applicants residing in Jordan must have proof of refugee registration or confirmed Refugee Status Determination (RSD) from UNHCR.

The second cohort of refugee students is expected to arrive in time to begin their academic studies in September 2025.
